doublecross brevet
What is this?
I have a plan to ride a classic road loop from Oxford in Canterbury, over Arthurs Pass to Greymouth via Brunner. The route will then follow the stunning coastline to Westport, then turn inland to Reefton for one of the best mountain crossings over Lewis pass and then back to Oxford. Thats 640k or so of amazing riding. My plan was to do it in 2 days, unsupported with a stop maybe in Punakaiki for a night.
Of course there may be uber-riders who might consider knocking off this behemoth in one go. Then there may be more sensible individuals who might want to make a great training ride out of it over 4 days. However its done it's a stunner!
Is anyone keen to join my little scheme? If so, register your interest, gather together some like minded people and join me.
Of course this is not actually an event. There is no entry fee, marshalls, or prizes..just the esteem of your peers and that great feeling of knocking the thing off! You or your group would have to be self sufficient, your safety is your responsibility. That might include organising your own support vehicle.
